‘UAE se haare’: Pakistan PM gets fact-checked by ex-Indian cricketer after ‘victory over India’ post

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra took a sarcastic dig at Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after congratulating the Pakistan team for defeating India in the 2026 Hong Kong Sixes tournament. Chopra pointed out that Pakistan had lost their opening match against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).Pakistan defeated India in the Hong Kong Sixes, a six-over tournament in which each team bats six overs, on Friday. After the win, Sharif took to social media to praise the team and congratulate the players.“Congratulations to our boys for an excellent four-wicket win over India in the opening encounter of the Hong Kong Sixes 2026! It was good cricket. I also commend PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and his team for their selfless efforts in preparation and support,” Sharif wrote on X.However, Chopra questioned the Pakistan Prime Minister’s celebration, pointing out that Pakistan had lost their opening match of the tournament against the UAE. He also looked back at the standard of Pakistan cricket and said Sharif’s focus on the Hong Kong Sixes reflected the team’s current standing.You are so quick to say “We beat India” without even checking the facts. I mean Really!!!” Chopra wrote in X’s post.In the match against India, Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi won the toss and chose to bowl. India managed 88/5 in six overs with Shashank Singh scoring 40 off 11 balls.Chasing down the target of 89 in just 3.5 overs, Pakistan won by four wickets. Khawaja Nafay top scored with 41 off 12 balls while captain Abbas Afridi made 35 off eight balls.
