Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader T. Harish Rao called Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who takes credit for winning the Miyapur lands case in the Supreme Court, a “credit chori”.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said it was the BRS government till 2023 that won many land disputes in court to protect government land. He alleged that the Chief Minister was looking for the district collector involved in the sale of 550 acres of land in Miyapur even before he got a copy of the Supreme Court judgement.
Of the 192 hearings in the Miyapur lands case, 86 were argued by CS Vaidyanathan, appointed by the BRS government, and only 11 hearings were held after the Congress came to power.
He alleged that the previous Congress government watered down the 2010 Manchirevulu Greyhound case by sending a government spokesperson instead of the advocate general to argue the case. On 19 May 2017, the KCR government filed an appeal and on 31 December 2021, the High Court gave its verdict in favor of the government. The Supreme Court issued a final verdict in the 142-acre land case on August 1, 2023, to secure the land for the Greyhounds.
The 30-year-old retaining wall of the Greyhounds facility was torn down overnight and a new retaining wall was erected within two days after 10.10 acres of land was left to private individuals. In Gandipet SRO 8886/2026, it was also listed as nil value registration land when the value of the land was ₹45.39 crore, he claimed.
He claimed that it was registered in the name of Dream Valley (Santosh Reddy) without paying the 7.5% registration fee. Later, another 20 registrations were made to take government land worth ₹1,000 crore. The land was still in the name of the Greyhounds (Police Department) in the records of Bhu Bharathi.
The Revanth Reddy government has not even appealed against the cancellation of the notification of the additional 10 acres of land acquired for the Greyhounds shooting range. The total value of the Manchirevul land scam was about ₹2,000 crore, the BRS leader said, adding that it was the BRS government that sent Goldstone Prasad to jail.
