Increase in purchase prices of milk

On 31 August, CM Vijay announced major policy decisions, including another hike in milk procurement prices, and unveiled a multi-crore infrastructure that spans power, semiconductors and logistics.

He also announced another increase in the purchase prices of Aavin milk and raised them from ₹41 to ₹44 per litre, which aims to provide major relief to dairy farmers across the state.

The announcement of the increase in government purchase prices comes on the heels of an earlier increase announced on August 19 at the Assembly, which raised the purchase price from ₹38 to ₹41.

He said the decision to address dairy farmers’ growing concerns about rising cattle feed and maintenance costs would mean additional monthly expenses. ₹60 crore for the state government, representing an annual expenditure of Rs ₹720 million crowns.
