The Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis Minister Maharashtra Fadnavis (June 6, 2025), which was awarded for new projects and programs, issued instructions for cancellation of administrative approval for 903 development projects.
Projects include irrigation schemes, basic dams, percolation tanks and repair of storage tanks. According to the Government Resolution (GR), schemes that are not functional due to land acquisition issues, local opposition or lack of cooperation from suppliers must be canceled.
The aim of the decision announced by the soil and water protection department is to prevent further incorrect allocation of funds and prepare a way for new projects. The aim of the Mahashtra Government is to cancel the stopped initiative and expects to allocate sources effectively, the solution said.
Some of the schemes that faced public opposition awaited regional level for more than three years. The government explained that it was not possible to meet the requirements of people.
“It is necessary to cancel the administrative approval of the schemes that have remained for more than three years to provide administrative approval to the new necessary systems within the ministries’ liability limits and farmers will benefit from the creation of irrigation areas in the state,” the official said.
The offers related to the schemes for which administrative approval has been canceled will also be canceled.
