A 24-year-old man allegedly brandished a revolver at bouncers and customers after an altercation broke out at a bar and restaurant in Somajiguda on Saturday (October 24), sparking panic among those present. Panjagutta police have closed the case.

According to a complaint filed by 29-year-old Bachu Bunty, a bouncer at Head Quarters Bar & Restaurant, the incident took place around 12.30 pm when there was a heated argument between customers on the second floor of the establishment.

Staff intervened and sent both groups off the second floor to prevent the dispute from escalating. One of the men then went to his vehicle parked in the basement, pulled out a revolver and attempted to re-enter the restaurant.

Bouncer Ganesh stopped him on the ground floor and moved him to the basement. However, the man allegedly followed other customers into the basement around 12:40 p.m., brandishing a revolver and threatening customers and bouncers.

According to the complaint, he demanded the return of the amount he had paid for the bill and threatened to shoot them if they did not comply. The incident caused panic among staff and customers who screamed and tried to run away.

The police were alerted and arrested the man. He has been identified as 24-year-old Mohammed Shanawaz, a liquor operator and resident of Achireddy Nagar, Owaisi Colony, Hyderabad. Police seized the revolver and brought Shanawaz to the police station along with his vehicle.

The complainant stated that the man’s act of retrieving a revolver from a vehicle, entering the premises with the weapon and pointing it at customers and staff seriously threatened their safety. The complaint further stated that bouncers and other customers intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.

The police take necessary legal action based on the complaint.
