The source of explosive materials has been traced to a suspected IED blast in Bengaluru

Even as the Bengaluru police say they are awaiting reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSCL) in connection with the alleged blast at an under-construction building on Jeremiah Road, which was suspected to have been triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), investigators have stepped up efforts to establish links and trace the source of the explosive materials.

While the police interrogated Suraj, one of the two accused, the other accused, Allauddin, is still recovering from the injuries he sustained. Police said the two injured men gave conflicting statements.

Meanwhile, investigators are trying to identify and trace the person who allegedly delivered the bag containing the torch that exploded on October 20. According to a senior police officer, the alleged substances were planted near a shop in the same locality from where the bag was picked up and brought to the building.

Police are now verifying the injured men’s call records and examining other technical details to trace the source of the bag.
