The Tamil Nadu government decided to shake hands to the inhabitants of the “Madrasi camp” in Nový Delhí, whose unauthorized houses on the banks of Barapullah should be demolished by the Delhi (DDA) Development Office.
The official release said that the state government, as ordered by the main Minister of MK Stalin, would help residents return to their native districts if they decide. They would receive comprehensive support, including the help of living, through collectors. The Tamil House of Nadu in Nový Delhi was commissioned to address the population. The government coordinated with them to ensure that they were given help without delay, she said.
“Madrasi Camp” is an informal living along the shore of Barapullah Yangpura near the Nizamuddin railway station in South Delhi. It has 370 residential units. The settlement is mainly inhabited by persons of origin Tamil Nadu.
The High Court in Delhi noted that the “Madrasi camp” was a “unauthorized building/intervention” that led to the obstacle and blocking the outflow of Barapullah, “causes significant contamination in the surrounding areas, especially during the monsoon”.

The Council for Improving the Municipal Shelter in Delhi has determined that 215 out of 370 inhabitants are entitled to allocate residential units in the economically weaker category of the Narel section.
9 May this year, all petitions filed by the inhabitants were destroyed by the High Court in Delhi, which ordered the opening of demolition in “Madrasi camp” from 1 June.
The government of Tamil Nadu said: “All legal ways available to the inhabitants of” Madrasi camp “to maintain unauthorized buildings on the spot were properly exhausted.”
