Dhinakaran slams TVK-led government over monsoon preparedness

AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran on Sunday slammed the TVK-led government over water stagnation in various parts of Chennai after heavy rain hit the city on Saturday evening. He said commuters faced hardship as many roads were waterlogged.

Mr. Dhinakaran charged that precautionary measures were not taken even after a weather warning of heavy rain in Chennai was received in advance. He said Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay should realize that only precautionary measures will protect people from the impact of heavy rain.

The AMMK founder urged the government to take preventive measures in the coming days by locating vulnerable areas and necessary preparations on a war footing.
