TDP National President and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the coalition government was aiming to significantly increase the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) from the current ₹17 lakh crore with support from the Center and that Andhra Pradesh could recover from the “devastating blow” inflicted by the previous YSR Congress (YSRCP) government between 2020.

“The Center has provided valuable support for the development of the capital at Amaravati and the construction of the Polavaram project,” Mr. Naidu said at Mahanadu, the TDP’s annual conclave, on Thursday.

Talking about the political resolution, Mr. Naidu said that he is working hard to fulfill the expectations of the people and for the welfare of the party cadres whose sacrifices have made the TDP formidable.

He found that Mahanadu was a big success as 16.78 lakh people attended the program held in hybrid mode in the last two days. He promised that the worthy cadres will be promoted accordingly.

Personnel welfare

“TDP has spent ₹160 crore on the welfare of its cadres. Through social retooling, they are providing opportunities to capable leaders and cadres to reach the next level,” TDP national president said.

He said that the farmers had given the land for the Amaravati project voluntarily and that the “destructive YSRCP government” had started with the demolition of Praja Vedika. “Investors were scared to come to Andhra Pradesh during the YSRCP tenure. But the coalition government has restored the ‘AP brand’ by making painstaking efforts,” he said.

The state was reeling under a debt of ₹10 crore, which was constantly being met by shifting loans. The government has revived a host of central schemes by disbursing the state’s share of ₹12,000 crore.

₹23 lakh crore of investment has been raised in the last 23 months, Mr. Naidu said, asserting that the TDP is making relentless efforts to achieve its goal of creating wealth and providing welfare to the masses.

He said the TDP would pressurize the Center to provide 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state legislatures and urged the cadres to prepare for the 2029 elections.
