While the couple has not publicly described their wedding plans, the Telangana Chief Minister’s office has confirmed that Kavya’s parents have invited A Revanth Reddy for the wedding reception scheduled for November 21 in Chennai.
From Maran Family to Sun TV Network
Kavya Kalanithi Maran is the daughter of Sun Group Chairman Kalanithi Maran and Kavery Kalanithi. The Chennai-based business group has interests spanning television broadcasting, film production and sports.

Her role in Sun TV’s digital and entertainment business
One of Kavya’s important projects was the development of Sun NXT, the group’s streaming platform. In an interview with Fortune India, she said she is closely involved in building its digital ecosystem, including content strategy, technology partnerships and user experience, to reach a younger audience.

The company’s entertainment operations place it at the intersection of traditional broadcasting, streaming and cinema – industries undergoing significant changes in the way audiences discover and consume content.
Building the Sunrisers brand beyond the IPL
Kavya’s public profile is most closely associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad, the IPL franchise her father acquired in 2013. She was involved from the very beginning, working on branding, team kits and marketing before taking on a wider leadership role.
Its responsibilities now extend beyond the borders of India. The Sunrisers group also operates Sunrisers Eastern Cape in South Africa’s SA20 league and is linked to the Northern Superchargers franchise in England’s The Hundred competition.
In an interview with Fortune India, Kavya discussed how teams in different countries require a different approach to audience, marketing and talent identification.
Business roles out of the limelight
Kavya Maran’s profile brings together the two sides of Sun Group’s business: media and professional sports. While cricket introduced her to a wide audience, her work also includes digital strategy, entertainment and sports property management across markets.
Her position is rooted in a family business, but the responsibilities she has include businesses with different audiences and business requirements. This combination – and her increasingly visible role in cricket – has made her a prominent figure in Indian business, outside the familiar scenes of the IPL stands.
