KTR withdraws Gajwel MRO for ‘insulting’ farmers
HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao demanded action against the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO-Tahsildar) of Gajwel in Siddipet district for his alleged remarks in which he asked some farmers who represented their problems to him why they did not consume pesticides to end their lives.
In a statement, Mr. Rama Rao said on Saturday that the MRO had insulted farmers who had met him over an issue related to their land. He stated that this was not acceptable and tried to find out how an officer in a responsible position could act so inhumanely against the farmers. Instead of solving their problem, MRO belittled the farmers.
When the farmer asked the MRO how he could insult the farmers who approached him to solve the problem, the officer reportedly curtly replied that he would only respond in this way. Mr. Rama Rao demanded that the Chief Secretary investigate the matter and take necessary action against the Revenue Officer.
