Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) supporters and student groups associated with left-leaning political parties continue their protests, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar over alleged mass voter deletion during the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process. While Abhijeet Dipke, founder (CJP), and spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka grabbed the headlines on October 10, the first day of the protest, another person became the face of the demonstration.

Face Jantar Mantar 2.0

While Bora continues to lead the protest against the CIC, even fellow activists agreed that the student leader is the face of the movement. Most notably, founder CJP Dipke responded to a post on X stating, “Maturity realizes Neha Bora is more talented than Abhijeet Dipke. A complete Gen Z icon with an absolutely ridiculous aura,” he said, “I agree.”

Bora replied to Dipke: “Solidarity, not comparison. We are fighting for this together.”

Activist Yogendra Yadav also recently praised Bora, calling him, Prashant Bhushan and Kapil Sibal “our heroes”, adding, “I hope when we are your age, we will be as strong and steadfast as all of you!”

Quoting the post, Yadav wrote, “Honestly, when I was your age, I didn’t have half the courage and determination you showed. Walking with you gives us strength and hope! You are a star.”

On Saturday, when top CJP leaders were detained upon arrival at the Delhi airport and police made it almost impossible for supporters to reach Jantar Mantar, Bora declared that the new venue for the protests would be the Dilli Haat at INA, prompting the police to scramble to arrest her along with other activists.
