Former district judge Giribala Singh was spotted outside her residence in Bhopal on Thursday morning, a day after the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s Jabalpur court canceled her anticipatory bail in the Twisha Sharma death case.
Visuals showing Singh feeding a stray dog outside his home soon surfaced online and quickly drew reactions across social media platforms. The development came at a time when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to continue its probe and may take further steps in the case.

Supreme Court overturned bail relief
A case against Giribala Singh was registered under the dowry cruelty and harassment provisions, along with sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
When canceling the preliminary bail, the High Court stated that the court of first instance did not sufficiently take into account the available materials in the case diary, witness statements and the claims of the deceased woman’s family.
The court noted that statements recorded from Twisha Sharma’s family members after May 13 contained allegations that Singh and her son harassed the deceased and allegedly pressured her to terminate the pregnancy.
The order also referred to WhatsApp chats and post-mortem findings, including multiple injuries before post-mortem, saying the material available required further investigation.
During the hearing, the prosecution and the CBI claimed that the accused allegedly did not fully cooperate with the investigation, despite notices being issued. They also told the court that a custodial interrogation might be required given the seriousness of the allegations and the current stage of the investigation.

Twisha Sharma molestation and death case
Twisha Sharma, a resident of Noida, married Samarth Singh of Bhopal in December 2025.
After her death on May 12, her family accused her in-laws of subjecting her to dowry-related harassment.
The allegations later became part of a wider investigation involving the CBI.
According to the Supreme Court, the case diary contains statements and evidence that investigators say require detailed examination.
Post-mortem findings also became a significant part of the investigation, including references to multiple injuries prior to slaughter.
Officials have not publicly confirmed further legal steps in the matter. The investigation is still ongoing
