Medicover Hospitals denies allegations of political ties

Medicover Hospitals has clarified that it has no political affiliation, expressing concern over some YouTube channels associating it with political parties and leaders.

Medicover Hospitals India Chief Operating Officer Mahesh Degloorkar said in a statement that leaders from various parties and governments attended the inauguration of Medicover Hospitals in their official capacities.

In Telangana, former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao inaugurated a Medicover hospital during the BRS government, while Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated another under the Congress government. Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the function.

The statement said that former Minister T. Harish Rao attended the inauguration of Begumpet Hospital, while former Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy also attended the inauguration of Medicover.

In Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and senior leader Sharad Pawar attended the inauguration of Medicover Hospital, he said. “Public representatives participating in the inauguration of the hospital in their official capacity cannot be portrayed as a political association,” Mr. Degloorkar said.

Campaigns targeting the hospital for political gain could cause unnecessary anxiety among patients and their families, he said, appealing to the public not to be misled by unverified reports.
