CBI busts bank recruitment scam and arrests four accused
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) busted a large-scale impersonation and cheating network operating in Delhi, Bihar, Haryana and West Bengal and arrested four key operatives, including one CGST inspector.
The agency registered the case on the initiative of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), after which searches were conducted and the accused persons were arrested.
They fraudulently penetrated several stages of the selection process, including written tests and interviews, by physically impersonating candidates, undermining the integrity of public examinations and depriving genuine applicants of their rightful opportunities, the agency said.
