The branch of the State Central Library opened in Technopark

On Wednesday, a branch of the State Central Library was opened in the premises of Technopark Phase 1 with the aim of benefiting the reading community in Technopark. Higher Education Minister Roji M. John inaugurated the branch at Bhavani Building in Technopark in the presence of State Central Librarian Shobhan PK as part of the 100-day action plan of the state government.

On this occasion, the minister also inaugurated the library’s chip card and digital payment device. The smart card device will integrate the details of library members and simplify the booking procedure, while the digital payment device will facilitate financial transactions including payment of fines.

Mr. John said that the branch of the State Central Library has been a long-standing demand of the IT staff. The facility is stocked with many Malayalam and English literary classics and books on a range of other subjects, the minister noted and urged the staff to send their suggestions and observations to improve it in the coming days. The Technopark branch will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all working days.
