BCom student murder: Four, including three juveniles, have been detained in connection with the fatal encounter

Four, including three juveniles, have been arrested in connection with the murder of 19-year-old BCom student Yogesh in Nagarabhavi on 30 September.

An argument, allegedly over a senior student, led to a clash that resulted in Yogesh’s death.

According to the preliminary investigation, the incident resulted from a dispute between a female student. The main accused, identified as Bhuvan, is currently absconding and the police have launched a manhunt for him.

Yogesh and Bhuvan were first-year BCom students at a private college on Muddayanapalya Road in Nagarabhavi. Bhuvan was reportedly in love with a student of the same college. However, the girl rejected his proposals.

The police suspect that Yogesh spoke negatively about the girl, which angered Bhuvan and led to the confrontation.

On September 30 at 2 pm, Bhuvan allegedly called Yogesh and asked him to come near the gymnasium on the road behind the college. When Yogesh reached the spot, Bhuvan and his associates allegedly had an argument with him.

The situation is escalating

During the argument, the situation escalated and they allegedly stabbed Yogesh in the chest before fleeing the spot, police said.

Locals rushed Yogesh, who was lying in a pool of blood, to a nearby private hospital. However, he died on his way.

A case has been registered at the Annapurneshwari Nagar police station. After an investigation, the police arrested four people, including three juveniles. Efforts are on to trace Bhuvan.

Police said three of the four accused have been lodged in a boys’ home, while the fourth accused, a major, has been remanded for further investigation.
