90m burden is out of India’s back, he said on Friday 16th May in Doho Diamond League on Friday, May 16. Neeraj responded to his best throw, which landed at 90.23 m at the Suheim bin Hamad stadium, and said he never felt personal pressure to achieve this performance, but seemed to be a monkey outside India – many believed that he could never intervene.
In 2024, Neera acknowledged that the 90m barrier was in mind for a moment and that he was desperately trying to achieve. On Friday, when Neej realized he threw around 90 meters, there was a visible feeling of peace on his face. However, the double Olympic medalist said he had previously interrupted the 88-89 meters barrier and was sure he would eventually translate the brand – trust that many Indians did not share.
“I always thought that 90 meters were within reach. I threw 88 plus several times. Coach Jan Elezn was with me – he kept saying that it would happen today and that I could do better than this. I started training with him in February, working on my technique.
Many people had this question – whether I could throw 90 meters or not – because I did not do it despite the competition since 2018. I broke 88-89 m before, but not 90 m. I feel I can do better even better, ”Neera said in an interview after the Revsportze event.
Doha Diamond League: emphasizing
On Friday, Neera’s best throw did not secure his highest position in Doha Diamond League, because the late increase in his friend and competitor Julian Weber Trumpfl his 90.23 MS by a massive attempt of 91.06 m. Neeraj said the result was bittersweet because he was happy for Julian Weber, his close friend on the circuit. He acknowledged that they both chased 90 meters for a while.
“It’s a bit of a bittersweet. For years, so it’s great to finally achieve it,” Neera said.
The Indian athlete revealed that he was still working on his technique under the leadership of the legendary coach Jan Elezn, a former world champion. Neeraj said he was convinced with this new technique that he was throwing even further.
“It was just the first competition of the year, so I’m sure I would throw even further in the upcoming meetings. I felt strong today and expected Julian to release a big throw because he was very consistent. I told him before there could be a day when we both crossed 90 meters.
“I also feel great from working with Jan Elezn as my coach. We trained hard in South Africa, and although we are still working on several technical points, I learn a lot. He does not normally travel to Diamond League, but he came up with me today.
“My trust has increased since Jan Elezn has come. He is a world record holder and I have been very carefully listening to everything he says,” the athlete concluded.
Julian Weber stuns Neera in Doha
German Julian Weber, who won with a Humongous throw of 91.06 m, praised Neera Chopra for achieving the goal he knew that the other had long been.
“I don’t know what happened tonight – I think I’ll have to watch it back! I just felt amazing there. The last few weeks weren’t great for me, so I didn’t expect it, but everything just clicked. My physios gave me a really good massage and I felt fresh,” Weber said.
Weber was incredibly consistent, and since his third throw he made his efforts to his back 88 m+. The last throw from Weber was absolute magic when he won the highest position at the last moment of the competition, UPSTAGING Neera, who held the lead since his first throw.
“The crowd was incredible, the atmosphere was perfect and it helped me to throw it for the first time in 90 meters. It turned out that it was also a winning throw in the last round, so it couldn’t be better. Neera Chopra threw him tonight, and I was seeing it tonight,” Weber finished, “Weber finished”.
