CMC opens Pediatric Specialty Center at its Ranipet campus

The new pediatric specialty center Fairfax-Quess Block was inaugurated at the Christian Medical College (CMC) campus in Ranipet on Friday.

According to a press release, the new 346-bed centre, built at a cost of ₹420 crore, marks a major milestone in the institution’s ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive, compassionate and advanced healthcare to children.

Around 12 departments including Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Rheumatology, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Respiratory Medicine and Pediatric Oncology are shifting from CMC’s Vellore campus to the new centre.

Commissioning of the new facility is expected in January 2027, with the transition and start of operation of the clinical departments planned in phases during February and March 2027.

The project was made possible by generous support from Fairfax (through the Vellore CMC Foundation) and Quess Corp, along with contributions from other donors and supporters, the release said.
