SCoR concludes Swachhata Hi Seva fortnight of plantations
The South Coast Railway (SCoR) concluded its fortnight-long ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ with a plantation drive at Mudasarlova on Gandhi Jayanti on Friday. The campaign, which took place from September 17 to October 2, focused on cleanliness, waste segregation, recycling, water conservation, green plantations and elimination of single-use plastics, according to SCoR.
The Railways said that more than 40,000 employees participated in cleanliness drives, awareness rallies and environmental conservation activities across the zone. Over 50,000 saplings were planted in railway colonies, stations, workshops and office complexes. Managing Director Sandeep Mathur along with senior officials led the plantation drive at the under-construction zonal headquarters in Mudasarlov. He fulfilled the Swachhata pledge and encouraged employees to dedicate one hour a day to cleanliness and environmental protection.
