Three workers died after Friday (May 16, 2025) breathed toxic gas while cleaning the septic tank at the Ahmedabad factory in Gujarat, the police said.

The workers cleaned the underground septic tank in the Danilimda washing unit in the morning, said the police commissioner Ya Gohil.
He said that Prakash Parmar, Vishal Thakor, and Sunil Rathva died of asphyxiations as soon as they entered the tank.
The official said the unit remained closed for some time and the owner wanted to restart the facility and hired the supplier to clean the septic tank.
“Our spacecraft revealed that one worker fell unconscious after entering the tank, and the others followed to see what had happened to him. The trio was hurried to the hospital where the doctors declared them dead,” Gohil said.
He said that the bodies were sent for postmort and against the supplier and the owner of the unit will be registered the first information report on the method of negligence, as the victims were not provided with any safety equipment.
