Puja-Deepavali season: KSRTC runs special inter-state services

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate special inter-state services from October 14 to November 14 to meet the additional travel demand during the festive season of Mahanavami, Vijayadashami and Deepavali. Additional services will connect Bengaluru, Mysuru and Chennai to various destinations in Kerala.

Online booking facilities have already been launched to allow passengers to book tickets in advance.

According to a statement from the transport minister’s office, special buses have been arranged from Bengaluru to Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur, Nilambur, Ponnani, Ernakulam, Changanassery, Pala, Alappuzha, Kollam, Punalur, Kottarakkara, Cherthala, Haripad, Kottayam, Adorvan, Kandoor, Kanhangnur, Kanhangnur Kandoor. In addition, services will operate from Mysuru to Kannur and Madurai. Special services are also available from Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. Services to Ernakulam will be operated using multi-axle alternating buses.

Special services were arranged from various depots in Kerala to other states. Buses to Bengaluru will ply from Kozhikode, Nilambur, Ponnani, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Changanassery, Alappuzha, Kollam, Punalur, Kottarakkara, Cherthala, Haripad, Kottayam, Adoor, Kannur, Payyannur, Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram. Services will also be available to Mysuru from Pala and Kannur depots and to Chennai from Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. The Ernakulam-Chennai route will also be operated using multi-axle alternating buses.

Some of these routes will have buses running every other day. KSRTC plans to deploy additional buses if required depending on the rush of passengers in the coming days.

To avoid the last minute rush and ensure a comfortable journey, passengers can book their tickets in advance through the official website www.keralartc.com or the mobile app “Ente KSRTC Neo OPRS”. A WhatsApp ticketing facility is also available at 9447071021. Passengers can also book tickets directly at all KSRTC reservation counters, the statement said.
