The Bombay High Court on Thursday (October 1, 2026) noted that Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and Rajya Sabha MP, holds 99% stake in Ameida Enterprises LLP. The LLP bought 40 acres of land at Mundhwa in Pune from the government at a price below its value, the court observed.
The court granted bail pending the arrest of Suryakant Yewale, Tehsildar of Pune. Police have named Mr Yewale as an accused in the case. The case relates to allegations of irregularities in the purchase of land in Mundhwa by Ameida Enterprises LLP.
The court asked why Mr. Pawar was not named as an accused. The police have named Digvijay Patil, who holds a 1% stake in the LLP, as the accused. On September 7, Justice Madhav Jamdar ordered the Maharashtra Director General of Police to file an affidavit explaining why Mr. Pawar’s name was not added as an accused.
In an affidavit, the DGP said that he had directed the Pune police to conduct an investigation into the case and would monitor the progress. The court accepted the statement. Justice Jamdar said that a person who owns 99% of the shares in a partnership firm is not an accused, but a person who owns 1% of the shares is an accused. The judge said that Mr. Pawar is the son of the Deputy Chief Minister. The judge expressed surprise at this.
Mr Yewale denied a role in the transaction and said he was involved. The judge said Mr. Yewale was passing the orders as an authority under the Bombay Tenancy Act. The judge added that there was no allegation that Mr Yewale had issued orders in favor of anyone for a consideration not permitted by law. The judge then granted Mr Yewale bail.
