Bar Counda Coral on Wednesday decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against lawyer Beyline Das, who was charged with attacking lawyers of a junior woman in her chamber in Vanchiyoor.
He was forbidden to appear before any court, tribunal or powers awaiting him for disciplinary proceedings. The Council also decided to issue a notice of the cause.
The action comes against the Beyline’s Suspension by Association Thiruvananthapuram Bar Association. The preliminary report sent to the Council of the Bar Association recommended further disciplinary proceedings, including the removal of its name from the state role.
Meanwhile, the accused who was accused of various provisions, including Section 74 (attack or criminal forces to the woman with the intention of outraging her modesty), continuous crime, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit, 2023, remains on the slim the next day.
Minister of Law P. Rajeeve, who after his visit to his complainant support, called on the Bar Association to initiate measures against an action for professional misconduct.
Mr. Rajeeve, who addressed Mediaperons, said an unprecedented incident was a matter of serious concern. He said the police actively follow this case, but the accused remains at freedom. Investigators could not trace him because his phone was turned off and no further leadership were found.
Referring to the complainant’s claim that some bearers of the Office from the Association of the Bar Association of Thiruvananthapuram prevented the police from detention of the accused, Mr. Rajeeve said that anyone who helps a criminal should face justice.
“The brotherhood of lawyers, when confronted with arrest cases, often forms a defense that protects their colleagues. In the event of an attack on a lawyer, especially a lawyer, the legal community must stand with the victim, not the accused,” he said.
The Minister added that the state government received applications for the introduction of legislation to ensure the protection of lawyers. The proposed law, similar to those in other countries, would help protect lawyers from attacks and harassment.
He also stressed that it was necessary to establish committees for internal complaints within the merger of the Bar Association to deal with concern about the security of lawyers.
