Revanth will storm the KTR fort on September 30 and begin development work worth ₹345.78 crore

In a move that reflects his high-stakes political manoeuvre, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is gearing up to take the political battle straight to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Labor President KT Rama Rao’s home turf on September 30.

The visit to Sircilla, a BRS stronghold held by Mr. Rao since 2009, includes a public rally along with a planned procession through the city, culminating in a public meeting near the Ragudu bypass. It is his first visit as Chief Minister.

The visit comes at a time when Mr. Rao has stepped up his criticism of the ruling Congress government over state administration, delayed social security guarantees and local development issues.

Apart from the political angle, the Chief Minister will launch and lay the foundation for development works worth ₹345.78 crore. Among the major projects to be launched is the proposed Nethanna Bazaar at Sircilla to provide marketing facilities for handloom and power loom products. The government designed the facility mainly to help market petticoats and polyester fabrics produced at the Sircilla looms.

Mr. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation for Young India Integrated Residential Schools at Sircilla and Vemulawada at a cost of ₹200 crore. Spread over 18 acres, the proposed educational complex at Peddur will accommodate about 2,600 students from classes V to XII. It will have 64 classrooms, dormitories, a dining hall and sports facilities. Telangana Public Schools will also be established at Sircilla and Konaraopet.

In Vemulawada, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for 26 cannons costing ₹99.40 crore as part of the development of the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple.

Foundation stones for seven government office buildings will also be laid, including RDO offices in Sircilla and Vemulawada, tahsildar offices in Tangallapalli, Veernapalli, Vemulawada Rural and Rudrangi and sub-registrar office in Vemulawada.

A 10,000 metric tonne capacity warehouse and associated units will be constructed at Rudrangi to facilitate storage of agricultural produce. The visit will also witness the initiation of arrangements for a women’s police station at Vemulawada and two traffic police stations, one each at Vemulawada and Sircilla.
