NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli on Sunday added another major milestone to his remarkable ODI career. The Indian star became only the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to reach 15,000 runs in one-day internationals.Kohli reached the milestone during India’s run chase in the first ODI against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram. Passed 15,000 runs with a four by Alzarri Joseph.

He has scored 54 hundreds and 80 fifties in ODIs, with a top score of 183. His ODI batting average is 58.83 while his strike rate is over 94.Tendulkar remains the leading run-scorer in ODI cricket with 18,426 runs from 463 matches. He scored 49 centuries and 96 fifties during his ODI career.Kohli is the second highest run-scorer in ODI cricket since surpassing former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara in October 2025. Sangakkara has scored 14,243 runs in the format and remains third on the all-time list.Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting is fourth with 13,704 runs in 375 ODIs, while former Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya is fifth with 13,430 runs in 448 matches.
