“Community Organizations Unable to Embrace Muslim Girls’ Aspirations”

Local Government Minister KM Shaji said some community organizations are still unable to accept the ideas and aspirations of Muslim girls.

On Sunday (September 27), he participated in the inauguration of a national seminar organized by the CH Mohammed Koya Department of Developmental Society Studies at the University of Calicut (CU).

Mr. Shaji said Muslim girls are making rapid strides in society, especially in the education sector. They played a major role in the recent protests organized by the Cockroach Janata Party in the state capital to protect constitutional rights. However, even those community organizations that claim to be progressive have failed to guide or advise them. Mr. Shaji argued that because of this situation, Muslim girls were influenced by atheistic ideas.

Earlier, academician J. Devika and former IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan had addressed various sessions. Inaugurating the two-day seminar on Saturday (September 26), Indian Union Muslim League State President Panakkad Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal said development should be viewed through the lens of Mahatma Gandhi rather than through the lens of capitalism.
