Asian Games 2026 Live September 27: Kamali Moorthy opens India Day, Priyanka, Manju Rani eye first medals
India will have a busy Sunday at the Asian Games where several medal contenders and finalists will take center stage on September 27. The day begins with the women’s running marathon where Priyanka and Manju Rani will try to make their mark in the medal race. Equestrian dressage, shooting and archery will also feature prominently in the morning, with medals and placings in the next rounds up for grabs.
Harjinder Kaur will then carry India’s hopes in the women’s 69kg weightlifting final at 10am. The squash courts will take over around noon, with two Indian players vying for the gold. Abhay Singh will take on Malaysia’s NG Eain Yow in the men’s singles final at 12.30pm, followed by Anahat Singh taking on Sivasangari Subramaniam in the women’s singles title at 1.30pm.
The focus will shift to athletics in the evening with a busy schedule of finals. Ancy Sojan Edapilly and Shaili Singh will compete for medals in the women’s long jump, while Animesh Kujur will contest the men’s 200m final. India will also be represented in the women’s 200m, men’s high jump, 100m hurdles and 3000m steeplechase finals as the athletics program takes center stage.
