According to the report, Tehran’s proposal would reopen the Strait of Hormuz along with the resumption of nuclear talks in exchange for Washington lifting its blockade of Iranian ports, which is said to be causing severe damage to the Islamic Republic’s economy. According to Trump, Iran is begging for a mid-term deal that will destroy its nuclear program.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday that a timetable for reopening the Strait of Hormuz would begin once the US accepts Tehran’s proposal for a seven-day ceasefire plan. He said: “If they pass this plan tomorrow, the seven days will start from tomorrow,” adding that Washington would have to take certain actions as part of the plan, which he said could be completed in four to five days. Araghchi added that if the US meets the conditions, the Strait of Hormuz could be reopened on the sixth day, followed by renewed talks between Tehran and Washington on the seventh.
