She sparked a conversation online after revealing that she was paying around $10,000 (approx ₹10 lakh) monthly rent for a 2 bedroom flat.

Popular financial influencer Sharan Hegde posted a video on Instagram. In the video, he visited the Manhattan apartment of content creator entrepreneur Khushi Jain, who revealed her rental details. Jain said she pays “$10,000 a month.” To which Hegde quipped, “It’s like.” ₹10 million.”
The woman said that the rental apartments in Manhattan could be more expensive and exceed what she was paying. But she said cheaper options are available in other neighborhoods for about $8,000 to $9,000.
Jain added that when looking for an apartment in NYC, she couldn’t find anything under $10,000 and ultimately decided to move out of Manhattan.
Cheaper alternatives in New York
She said rental apartments in areas like Brooklyn, Long Island City, Queens and Astoria could be possible for around $5,000 to $6,000 a month.
The two also discussed the cost of living in New York. Hedge asked her how much a person needed to live comfortably in NYC. Jain responded with what is valid as a couple.

Jain and her partner pay about $10,000 a month including rent and other expenses, she said. This brings her total annual cost of living in New York to between $100,000 and $120,000, which is approx. ₹95 million ₹1.14 million annually.
