The SafeStay AP app was launched to make accommodation safer and strengthen emergency response

With the launch of SafeStay AP, citizens in Andhra Pradesh can now use the digital platform to discover verified accommodation, view property details and availability, make reservations and seek SOS help in case of an emergency.

Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta and Guntur Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal launched the platform on Tuesday (September 22, 2026).

Mr. Jindal told The Hindu that SafeStay AP has brought citizens, accommodation providers and the police ecosystem on a common digital platform to improve visibility and verification of information and promote faster security-related response.

Through the SafeStay AP mobile app, guests can search for verified hotels, Paying Guest (PG) accommodation, hostels and other registered accommodation based on their location and requirements. They can manage bookings and stays, maintain a digital profile and complete the relevant verification process.

The platform also provides an app for property owners and managers to digitally register properties, add room and bed details, maintain availability, manage bookings and update guest information. This is to reduce reliance on fragmented or manual information processing.

For police operations, the authorized interface provides centralized access to relevant accommodation and security information. It supports asset verification, security alerts, SOS alerts, maps, analytics and operational visibility, subject to role-based access and departmental authorization.

The ecosystem connects accommodation search, verification and booking with security response through a controlled digital workflow. Its core infrastructure includes secure backend services, authentication, digital documents and KYC workflows, notifications, mapping, analytics and SOS facilities.

The initiative seeks to create a more transparent and digitally connected accommodation ecosystem, enabling citizens to make informed decisions, accommodation providers to manage operations digitally and authorized police personnel to access relevant information when necessary for safety and response.

The application is designed to provide law enforcement agencies with instant access to guest information and up-to-date occupancy information at all hotels and Paying Guest (PG) accommodations across the state.

Focused on technology-driven policing, the platform aims to streamline crime prevention, speed up crime investigations and improve public safety through digital connectivity between accommodation facilities and the police department.
