Rajasthan CET 2026 Exams Rescheduled Due to Local Polls, 40K Candidates Affected: Check Revised Dates | Today’s news
The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has revised the schedule for both levels of the Common Eligibility Test (CET). The Higher Secondary CET will now be held from 1-3 December 2026, while the Graduation Level CET has been moved to January 2027.
Candidates who have appeared for the exams should take note the adjusted schedule and plan their preparation accordingly. Any other changes including information about admit cards, exam centers, shift timings and exam day guidelines will be communicated through the official website of RSSB.
The Rajasthan CET 2026 Higher Secondary Examination detailed notification has also been made available on the official website of the board, rsmsb.rajasthan.gov.in.
The revision in the exam calendar is expected to affect more than 40 lakh candidates who have appeared for the two CET exams.
Rajasthan CET dates have changed during the run up to the elections
RSSB president Alok Raj said the dates were revised as Rajasthan is currently gearing up for local body and panchayat elections.
Election-related duties require a significant number of government officials and employees. Therefore, the Board has taken into account the administrative requirements of the election process while finalizing the revised CET examination schedule.
The decision led to changes in the dates of the upper secondary and graduate CET exams.
Senior Secondary CET will be held from 1st to 3rd December
The Higher Secondary Level CET was earlier scheduled for October 23-25. As per the revised calendar, the exam will now be held from 1st to 3rd December 2026 in multiple shifts.
Around 24.5 thousand candidates have registered for the Higher Secondary level examination.
The postponement gives candidates more than a month of additional preparation time compared to the earlier schedule. Candidates can use the additional period to complete pending parts of the syllabus, revise important topics and take mock exams.

CET graduation level moved to January 2027
The timetable for Graduation Level CET has also changed. The inquest was previously scheduled for December 1-3, but will now take place between the second and third week of January 2027.
Around 17 thousand candidates applied for Graduation Level CET.
The revised schedule provides additional time for these candidates to prepare before the exam. Candidates should adjust their study plans according to the new timeline and continue their exam preparation and wait for further details from the board.
Information regarding Admit Cards, Exam Centers, Shift Timings and other exam day requirements will be released through RSSB official website.
More than 40 thousand candidates affected by the revised schedule
More than 40 thousand candidates have registered for CET Higher Secondary and Post Graduate Examinations combined. The postponement means candidates will have more time to revise their subjects, practice mock tests and concentrate in areas where they need more preparation.
However, applicants should maintain a consistent study plan rather than relying solely on an extended preparation period. A modified exam date can provide extra time for preparation, but it can also disrupt an already established study routine.
According to the revised schedule, the Senior Secondary Level CET is proposed to be held from 1st to 3rd December 2026. The Graduate Level CET is expected to be held between the second and third week of January 2027.
