Due to last-minute disruptions for medical PG aspirants, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has rescheduled the NEET PG 2026 exam at a key center in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
In a notification, the board said that the exam, which was originally scheduled to be held at iON Digital Zone in Sitapura, has been postponed due to serious concerns over power failure at the venue.
All candidates allotted to Sitapura center will now appear for their Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test on 5th September 2026.
The sudden rescheduling has left hundreds of candidates in a state of emergency as many travel from neighboring districts and states to reach their allotted centres.
NBEMS has assured the students that the new admit cards and specific logistical details for the September 5 exam will be communicated soon through the official portal.
Logistical hurdles add to the ongoing difficulties of NEETs
While the Jaipur incident has been attributed to a localized infrastructure failure, it has struck a nerve for medical aspirants in India.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), both at the Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) levels, has come under intense public and judicial scrutiny in the last few years.
The entry medical ecosystem has been severely rocked by controversies in recent years, especially the massive uproar over alleged paper leaks, arbitrary granting of grace marks and systemic mismanagement.
