Five injured after truck hits bus near Tuni

At least five people sustained serious injuries and 30 others sustained minor injuries on Thursday after a truck hit a bus carrying at least 50 people traveling to Uppada after attending a wedding in Tuni. The wedding took place on Wednesday evening.

“The bus was hit by a lorry causing the bus to overturn. At least five persons sustained serious injuries and are being treated at the Government Hospital in Tuni.” Tuni Rural CI G. Chenna Kesava told The Hindu, adding that nearly 30 other passengers sustained minor injuries and returned home on Thursday evening after basic medical treatment.

Neither the bride nor the groom were on the bus on Thursday. The police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
