Jagan’s “distorted remarks” on DSC reflect his political desperation, says Health Minister Satya Kumar

Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav urges YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to present his case in the Legislative Assembly.

YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is making “distressed statements” about the DSC teacher recruitment process as he is unable to digest the developments taking place under the NDA government, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has alleged.

In a statement on Friday, Mr. Satya Kumar said that the strong unity between the TDP, the BJP and the Jana Sena Party could not be weakened by the “distorted remarks of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy”.

The former chief minister should first muster the courage to attend the legislative assembly and participate in debates on public issues instead of talking between four walls, the minister said.

On Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s allegations of irregularities in DSC recruitment, Mr. Satya Kumar questioned why he did not come forward for discussion in the Legislative Assembly despite repeated calls by HRD Minister Nara Lokesh.

“If you are asked to come to the Assembly for discussion, you will not come. You lack the courage to face the people, but you keep criticizing the government and the BJP externally,” the minister said, adding that it is the responsibility of the Leader of the Opposition on the floor of the House to raise public issues and respond to the government’s arguments. He urged Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy to present his case in the assembly.

Despite Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks that reflected his political desperation, Mr. Satya Kumar maintained that the coalition government was formed on the mandate of the people and its constituent parties worked together for the development of the state.

Referring to Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks about him becoming a “cockroach”, the minister said it was ironic that the leader was talking about such issues, especially when his five-year rule had plunged the state into debt and caused injustice to the youth. “People have not forgotten the past. They know who did what and you cannot cover up the failure of your government,” the minister said.

Mr. Satya Kumar urged Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy to come to the legislature for a debate on DSC recruitment and problems faced by unemployed youth. “Mr Nara Lokesh is ready to debate with you. The delay is on your part. Let the truth prove itself before the people,” he said.
