In the rapidly developing world of motor sports, where hard work, accurate engineering and high speed are combined, there are few stories as inspiring as Yuven Sundaramoorty. The indication-American driver constantly built a name in a sport that rarely saw someone from the Indian shine diaspora.
Yuven’s career did not start in the well -known circuits of carting in Europe or in the legendary Asia races. Instead, it started in the classes and laboratories of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he not only watched his studies, but also carried the spirit of his heritage. He played a distinctive red and white helmet decorated with bold “W”, in 2024 he returned to Milwaukee as a hero of his hometown and eager to show how far he came.
The Indy NXT season in 2024 proved to be a breakthrough. Despite the early challenges-technical problems that threatened to derail its momentum-yuven, they remained concentrated and grounded. He believed in himself and his team, and turned the failures into reflective stones, and eventually looked at two stages, the top five and eight top ten in his last nine races. “It’s always sweeter when you had to overcome obstacles to achieve success,” Yuven reveals in an exclusive interview with Indianay.in
Yuven’s career was also not without failure outside the track. Financial challenges and sponsorship uncertainty, increased by political turbulence in the US, forced him to stand up for the 2025 season. He admitted: “These reports hit us hard. But the races are expensive, and this happens more often than people are aware.” Despite these challenges, it remains hopeful and determined and remains in contact with sponsors when they look forward to returning to the NXT grid in 2026 with the possibility of participating in several races at the end of this year. What Yuvena distinguishes is his ability to balance two demanding worlds. While many competitors spend their off -season tuning of their cars or creating networks, Yuven also works full -time as a test engineer in Tesla Motors. He finds that his work in Tesla perfectly complements his passion for races: “I have to manage high -speed Tesla models to try them and give the team feedback.
This double identity and engineer were a characteristic feature of his way. In 2021, Yuven created history as the first indication-American driver who won the Indycar sanction race, reaching a victory in Barber Motorsports Park, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Mid-Ohio. With the nine stage this season he secured third place at the championship-a significant success, which broke the new ground and continues to inspire others.
For Yuven, however, motivation exceeds trophies and bike times. “Races are not popular in the Indian community,” he explains honestly. “I hope my success and success of others can inspire more Indian original children to dream bigger.” His success is not only a personal victory, but also a lighthouse for a community that often did not get in sports.
As far as One-sen is about many aspiring racing-Juven, it remains realistic. “It’s always at the back of your mind,” he admits. “But F1 has a different ladder of development. We had conversations with some teams, but right now it doesn’t seem like the most likely way.” Meanwhile, his heart is set to Indycar and his unfinished business in the NXT series.
