Test World Cup points table: How do India fare after 3-0 whitewash of Pakistan in England?

(AP) England completed a 3-0 clean sweep of Pakistan with an eight-wicket victory in the third Test at Edgbaston, ending the one-sided series in style. The hosts won the three matches by an innings and 103 runs, 194 runs and eight wickets.Pakistan’s tour ended in disappointment despite major changes ahead of the final Test. The team made several changes to the playing squad and coaching staff before the game at Edgbaston, but the move did not change the result.Pakistan were bowled out for 133 in the first innings, failing to clear the 200-run mark for the fifth time in the series. They responded with a much better effort in the second innings, scoring 449 after fifties from Azan Awais, Shan Masood, Babar Azam and debutant Razaullah, whose lower-order batting stood out.England had already dominated the match by building a 320-run lead in the first innings, with five batsmen scoring half-centuries.Chasing 130 for victory, England lost Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay in the first match to Mohammad Abbas. WTC standings after England win

England’s win did not change their position in the World Test Championship standings as they remained sixth. However, their scoring percentage improved to 38.54.Pakistan remained at the bottom of the nine-team table and their points percentage further dropped to 14.81.India remain fifth in the WTC table with a points percentage of 51.52 after five wins, four losses and two draws in 11 matches in the current cycle.India’s next assignment at the WTC will be the two-Test series in New Zealand, starting on November 19 in Wellington.
