Chief coach Chennai Super Kings Stephen Fleming said that Dewald Brevis is one of the players who were considered that his CSK debuted against SRH on Friday, April 25. Brevis, who went through during the IPL 2025 auction, Chennai was replaced by a wounded gurjapneet for the rest of the season.
Brevis played 10 matches in his career IPL and scored 230 runs. Fleming was asked if a South African could debut on Friday, and CSK coach admitted that he was one of the possibilities they were considering.
Fleming said there were other players who have been with the team since the beginning of the season and will have to release the best team for the match against Hyderabad. CSK coach said he would have to look at the impact that Brevis may have on the game.
“It is one of the possibilities we will look at. We have other players who have been with us for the whole tournament. Brevis is a good complement to the team, but we just have to manage what we think would be the best team, given the players who work with us, and also look at the impact that Brevis can have.
“The reason for low confidence for a bad form of the middle order.”
Speaking of the bad form of the middle order, Fleming said that players could have low confidence and were unable to convert the beginning to a big score. Coach CSK said that batting this season did not click.
“It’s a combination of things – maybe trust is low. The iPL is hard.
