Dinner with PM Modi impresses the Vance family
On Monday evening, Prime Minister Modi hosted the Vance family in his official residence in Nový Delhi and after interviews with the American Vice President. Vance shared a light moment since the evening and told his son Ewan, after enjoying dinner, expressed the desire to live in India. “The food was so good and the prime minister was so kind to our three children that Ewan came to me and said,” Dad, you know, I think I could live in India, “Vance said, pulling laughter out of the audience.
Vance, however, witty, “But I think today about 90 minutes in the Sun in the Great Palace suggested that we should move to England.”
Criticizing previous US approaches to India
In his speech, Vance also thought about the approach of previous US administration to India, especially criticizing the attitude of “sermon” to the Prime Minister Modim. “Washington has turned to Prime Minister Modi with the attitude of sermon, or even condescension,” Vance said.
He stressed that, on the other hand, contemporary American leaders are looking for a partnership based on respect and mutual contribution. “We are not here to preach that you are doing things in any particular way,” he added.
Modi’s hard style of negotiation praised

He acknowledged that the focus of India on the protection of its industries is a legitimate strategy and contrasts with previous US failures to protect its own workers. “We do not blame Prime Minister Modi for the struggle for the Indian industry. But we blame the American leaders of the past for not doing the same for our workers,” Vance said.
Business talks between India and USA
Vance’s visit monitors the recent tensions surrounding business policy, including the decision of President Trump, then a pause, a large tariff regime affecting about 60 countries, including India.
Currently, the new Delhi and Washington are dealing with negotiations on the completion of a two -sided business agreement, which is expected to deal with several questions, including tariffs and market access.
