“We need to look at the elderly not just as recipients of care but as an economically active part of society. Creating opportunities for them to remain engaged in the workforce, along with providing quality care and support to families and caregivers, can help address these emerging needs,” said DP Majhi, former director of the Dr Ambedkar Quality Foundation, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Social Empowerment that works to implement Ambedkar’s welfare and social justice programmes.
