A proposal submitted by Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthy for Vande Bharat train service between Tirupati and Shivamogga has received a positive response from the Railway Ministry.

It may be recalled that Mr. Gurumoorthy had written to the Chairman and Managing Director of the Railway Board to improve the facilities at Tirupati station and introduce new Vande Bharat trains to Tirupati in view of the increasing number of pilgrims. In response, the Railway Board announced that it would look into the request and officially informed him that a proposal had been submitted to introduce the Vande Bharat from Tirupati to Shivamogga town via Bengaluru.

The new development will be an important intervention in meeting the needs of travelers between Bengaluru and Tirupati for pilgrimage, education, medical treatment and other purposes, Mr. Gurumoorthy said.
