A special investigation team (SIT) investigating alleged fraud of liqueur during the Government period of the YSRC (YSRC) Congress (YSRC) in Andhra Pradesh questioned former member of Rajya Sabha V. Vijaya Sai Reddy in Vijayawada.
Investigated officers reportedly asked questions about alleged fraud with multiple CRORY, in which public representatives, bureaucrats and private individuals were involved.
It was argued that several YSRCP leaders hovered in a secret agreement with some officers, launched about 30 new liqueur brands and supported cash payments from 2019 to 2024.
“During the interrogation, SIT officers questioned me at meetings dealing with liqueur policy, and officers and people who participated and were part of these negotiations,” said Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy.
“SIT officers asked whether commissions were awarded, and if yes, for which the money was paid, the roles of Kasireda Rajashekar Reddy, the 100 Crore loan, which he and others were taken, and whether the amount of loan and interest was repaid or not,” said former leader Yysrc.
Sit officers also asked Mr. Vijay Sai Reddy about the sale of non-invoking paid liqueur (NDPL) in Andhra Pradesh and neighboring countries.
Later he focused on the media, Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy, who was witnessing in this case, said P. Midhun Reddy, Sajjala Sridhar Reddy and Mr. Kasireddy Rajashekar Reddy attended meetings.
“I said I said I was not aware of the commission and which they were given. The sale of NDPL and the new distillery companies, only Mr. Kasireddy RajashEKar Reddy can reveal the facts,” he said.
“I think investigative officers are satisfied with my answers. If SIT asks me to come again in the investigation, I will come,” said Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy.
“Only Mr. Kasiredy RajashEKar Reddy can find out about the use of the CRORE 100 GBP, floating new distillers, closing some companies and other questions,” he added.
Asked if he was planning to reconnect to politics, Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy explained that he was not in the race for Rajya Sabha.
“In 2018, Mr. Kasireddy RajashEkar Reddy joined Ysrp. He did not know that he allegedly had criminal records, encouraged him and gave him key contributions on the side,” he said.
