The verification of EVMs used in Kolathur constituency is underway following a petition by MK Stalin to the Election Commission

Inspection and verification of the burnt memory and microcontroller of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) used in 14 polling booths in Kolathur constituency during the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections was conducted on Wednesday (July 29, 2026) on a petition filed by defeated DMK candidate and former Chief Minister of India MK Stalin (before the Election Commission of India MKI).

Mr. Stalin lost the constituency to Tamil Nadu Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate VS Babu by a margin of 8,795 votes.
