KSHDCL will soon launch an updated e-commerce portal

Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (KSHDCL) will soon launch an updated e-commerce portal in a move to expand the market reach of Karnataka’s renowned handicrafts across India and overseas.
According to KSHDCL officials, the portal is under development and its launch is proposed during the upcoming Ganesha festival. HR Rajappa, MD, KSHDCL said, “The existing e-commerce portal was developed in 2012. The new platform is not only designed as a visual upgrade but also to make it user-friendly.”
Customized product option
Mr. Rajappa said that one of the key features of the new portal will be the “Customize Product” option. Customers will be able to submit specific requirements regarding size, design, color, material, engraving, personalization, quantity and packaging. The device can also be used for corporate gifts and special events.
The new portal will showcase a wide range of handicrafts from Karnataka on a single digital platform, including sandalwood, rosewood, bidriware, Channapatna lacquerware, Kinhala toys, traditional Mysore paintings, Ganjifa art, metal crafts and handicrafts and textiles.
Meanwhile, Rohini Sindhuri, Secretary, MSME, Mines and Textiles Departments said, “Through the new portal, we aim to increase the annual online sales of Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium, KSHDCL’s flagship store, to ₹ 5 crore in three years, while creating new market opportunities for artisans and providing consumers with a wide range of options.”
