(PTI) New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season reached its half point and the situation looks unusually grimly for five -time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). With just two victories of their first seven games, CSK finds itself disappearing at the bottom of the table. Now the urgent question is: can they bounce in the remaining seven matches?

One of the few clear places for CSK this season was Noor Ahmad. Afghan Spinner was sensational, with 12 goals taking an average of 14.25 in 7 games and an economic rate of 7.12. He is currently holding a purple cap and was the backbone of their bowling attack. Another positive was Khaleel Ahmad, who sits just behind Noor in the ranking of a goal with 11 scalp on average 22.09. Although slightly expensive in 9 runs for more than over, its breakthroughs came at crucial moments.
Missing
The biggest decline for CSK was their launch. Ruturaj Gaikwad, their most reliable dough in recent seasons, played the first five matches before it was excluded by the fracture of the elbows – the main blow of their campaign. Rachin Ravindra is the best scorer of the team with 186 runs on average 31 and a strike of 132.85, but the tab unit as a whole lacked intention and fluency.

CSK detonated second in six of his seven games and managed to chase the goal only twice-time chasing the score below 170. The middle order did not shoot and seems to be too much reliance at the Dhoni MS. At 43, if CSK still relies on Dhoni’s magic in death, he portrays a worrying picture.
Chances of Play -off
CSK has built its heritage on unlikely comebacks, but this time the task seems monumental. Although it is not mathematically impossible, the journey ahead is steep. When routuraj is not available and Dhoni take over the captain, CSK will need something extraordinary – perhaps a touch of this annual “Mahi Magic” – for the production of Play -OFF.
