
The Thatchamamatt Police was arrested four people for killing a farmer near his agricultural land in the village of Parayampath in Tiruvannamei on Wednesday above the land dispute.
The police said the arrested persons were identified as S. Perumal, 76 years, his two sons P. Murty, 45, P. Kasi, 43, and M. Mangai, 43 years, Murty’s wife.
The initial investigation revealed that the victim of C. country, 48, cultivated its three acres of agricultural land in the village for many years. Perumal, his neighbor, cultivated Paddy.
Both of them had disagreement on the border of their country. They regularly argued about the problem. A few days ago, the duo got into the argument of irrigation of the disputed space around 800 square feet.
When they argued, Mutha, Kasi and Mangai came to Perumal’s defense. In a bout of rage, they attacked a wooden protocol that cried for help. The inhabitants and neighbors rushed him to the government hospital Taluk in Thandarampatt, where doctors said he was dead on arrival. A case was registered. All four were arrested and stored in a central prison in Vellore. The probe is running.
