The ACB records the highest number of case registrations in the second quarter since 1983

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered the highest number of cases since 1983 during the second quarter of the calendar year, registering 10 disproportionate assets (DA) cases, 34 entrapment cases and conducting 23 surprise checks, Director General Charu Sinha said at the bureau’s performance review on Tuesday.

During the review meeting, Ms. Sinha expressed satisfaction with the Bureau’s performance and said the record number of cases reflected renewed focus, sustained vigilance and professional determination to fight corruption.

She commended the officers and staff of various units for their work and stressed the need to maintain professional, fair and thorough investigations while continuously improving investigative standards and institutional vigilance.

ACB also organized a reward Mela to recognize the officers and staff for their performance during the quarter. Commendations and rewards were given to employees who were judged to have performed exceptionally well in anti-corruption investigations.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Sinha said corruption was weakening the country from within and urged officers to continue to discharge their duties with integrity, determination and a strong sense of public service to strengthen public confidence and uphold the rule of law.
