Memorandum of Understanding signed to support innovation in medical robotics

The Technology Innovation Hub Foundation for IoT and IoE (IHFC) at IIT Delhi and AIC-AMTZ MediValley in Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate innovation in medical robotics and smart healthcare technologies.

The partnership brings together the Technology Innovation Center’s (IHFC) expertise in artificial intelligence, robotics, cyber-physical systems and autonomous technologies with AMTZ’s integrated MedTech manufacturing and innovation ecosystem. Combining advanced research with industry-leading manufacturing capabilities, the collaboration aims to accelerate the development, testing and translation of next-generation medical robotic solutions into real-world healthcare applications.

“India has the talent to lead the world in medical robotics. What we need is an ecosystem to transform ideas into life-saving technologies. At AMTZ, we are building this ecosystem by bringing together innovation, manufacturing and entrepreneurship,” said AMTZ MD Jitendra Sharma.

“This collaboration is another step towards AMTZ’s broader mission to build a future where every breakthrough in healthcare reaches the people who need it most. By combining innovation, research and manufacturing, we create technologies that have the power to save lives and transform healthcare,” he added.

In another release, AMTZ said it has built one of India’s most comprehensive MedTech innovation ecosystems, nurturing more than 100 startups dedicated exclusively to healthcare innovation. From AI diagnostics and life-saving medical devices to biotechnology, rehabilitation technology and digital health solutions, AMTZ has become a springboard for innovators who translate ideas into technologies that improve patient care.

With more than 100 startups incubated at its dedicated centers – Medivalley Incubation Council, Bio Valley Incubation Council, Bharat Limb Center (BLC) and Center of Excellence for Additive Manufacturing – AMTZ enables innovators to move seamlessly from concept and prototyping to validation, manufacturing and commercialization.

Unlike conventional incubators, AMTZ provides start-ups with access to advanced manufacturing, advanced prototyping, testing laboratories, regulatory guidance, quality certification, clinical collaboration and commercialization support.
