Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) chief and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ake Ravi Krishna urged parents to spend time with their children and create a positive family atmosphere at home to prevent them from engaging in vices.

If children are neglected, they may become addicted to vice and spoil their lives, the IGP said. He also urged parents to keep an eye on their children’s movements.

Mr. Ravi Krishna along with Superintendent of Police (Operations) EAGLE KM Maheswara Raju, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP-Rural) B. Lakshminarayana, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mylavaram P. Ramachandra Rao participated in the ‘Palle Batalo EAGLE’ event at Vellaturu Sunday village in NTR Mandal of G. Kondur on Sunday.

The IGP, who participated in an awareness program against drugs, ganja and other narcotics, said some students who were booked in cases of drug peddling and consumption were spending time in jail and ruining their lives.

“EAGLE comes to villages to interact with villagers, community elders, youth, students and parents. I request all mothers to come together and make Andhra Pradesh a drug free state,” said Mr. Ravi Krishna.

Meanwhile, Mr. Maheswara Raju said that EAGLE has sent several drug addicts to rehab centers and is taking all measures to end the smuggling of ganja and synthetic drugs.

“EAGLE has conducted raids in trains, near educational institutions, medical shops to stop the sale of drugs and formed EAGLE clubs in schools and colleges. Persons having any information about drug smuggling can call 1972 and alert the police,” said Mr. Maheswara Raju.

Later, officers of Police, Education, Revenue, EAGLE and other departments asked the villagers about any problems they had in Vellatur and neighboring villages.
