Water supply will be cut for 24 hours in parts of Hyderabad on July 27

Water supply will be interrupted in many parts of the city from 10:00 am on July 27 for 24 hours due to the ongoing work at the pipe junction near Uppal junction to expedite the ongoing construction of the screening plant.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) said on Saturday that the work has been connected to the 1,600 mm diameter MS gravity main of the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project (KWSP) Phase II Ring Main-2. Work is going on at the junction to speed up the construction of the P15 foundation of the Uppal Flyover being constructed by the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation.

The board noted that the work was necessary as the road from Uppal Junction towards Warangal Highway was closed and completion of the foundation work as soon as possible would help improve the heavy traffic situation.

Localities that will be affected include Fatehnagar, Hasmathpet, Prakash Nagar, Nacharam, HMT Nagar, Beerappagadda, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur, Venkat Reddy Nagar, Uppal, Mekalamandi, Bholakpur parts, Padmarao Nagar, Bansilalpet, Buddhanagar, Latarnadi parts, North Sitapgu, Tarnadi parts, North Sitap Lalaguda, Addagutta, Balanagar, South Central Railway facilities, MES and Secunderabad Cantonment Board. area.

The water authority urged consumers in the affected areas to use water judiciously during the outage, adding that supply would be gradually restored once the pipeline work was completed.
